Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, it serves the residents of Huntington Beach and the surrounding area with nearly 200 physicians and more than 400 healthcare professionals on staff.

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics.

Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.

Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas.

Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data.

Communicates with the population served, utilizing age‑specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics.

Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.

Completes special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to multi‑task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.

Analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Customer services experience required.

High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Pay Transparency Huntington Beach Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement and many more voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits and other forms of compensation, is $21.00 to $25.53. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, based on skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
