Responsibilities Operates ultrasound scanning equipment to produce records of designated portions of the human anatomy of adult and geriatric patients.

Certifications and qualifications

Certified or eligible for certification by ARDMS

Certified or eligible for certification by ARRT (S)

Certified or eligible for certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

All sonographers must obtain certification within twenty-four months of eligibility or cross training

Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment

Sonographers must be in compliance with ARDMS, ARRT or CCI continuing education requirements appropriate to their practice

Preferred qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology

Prior experience in ultrasound

Registered Cardiovascular Technologist with two (2) years cardiac related experience

Registered Vascular Technologist with two (2) years vascular related experience
