Work Schedule :
Full Time: 5 days per week (40 hrs) Monday - Friday, 9 hours between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, with a 30 minute or one hour lunch.
No Call, No Weekends, No Holidays! Job Specific Position Duties :
The duties include, but are not limited to the following : Core Duties : Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF, supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated. Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members. Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician. Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through formal and individual education and counseling. Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization. Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters. Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety. Additional Duties / Scope of Practice : May be granted clinical privileges to provide primary ambulatory healthcare to both obstetrical and gynecological patients. Clinical privileges include : Diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses, minor traumas and behavioral/psychological problems related to women’s health. Teach, counsel and advise patients, families and communities about current health status, illness(es), and health promotion and disease prevention activities appropriate for age and condition. Perform well woman exams, comprehensive family planning counseling, infertility evaluations and sexually transmitted infections care. Perform initial obstetrical visits and routine prenatal and post partum care for low risk pregnancies. Perform therapeutic procedures as defined and approved on the provider privileges list; and initiate and evaluate treatment regimens which may include prescribing and dispensing medications appropriate for privileged scope of care. May perform additional skills such as colposcopy, limited ultrasound, and contraceptive implant insertions/removals, based on appropriate education and training. May act independently in areas of demonstrated competency within their designated scope of practice May work as sole provider with physician consultation available as described below if these specific privileges have been granted Supervision : WHNPs must have physician (privileged for the same scope of practice) consultation available either in person, by phone, or electronic means when they are performing ambulatory clinic direct patient care activities. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Degree: Master’s degree in nursing or Advanced Certification (Certificate of Authority) Education: Graduate from an academic program in the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by ACEN or CCNE. Master’s degree must be from an approved OB/GYN or women’s health nurse practitioner program or Advanced Certification acceptable to USAF Surgeon General. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted NP license from any state. Clinical Certification: Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner certification with NCC Life Support Certification: Maintain current AHA or ARC BLS Certifications. Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
