Overview
Medical Materiel Specialist for our client site in Williamsburg, VA. The successful candidate will be committed to working with others to deliver best-in-class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities
Be proficient in the use of the DMLSS, HIMS or other authorized database of record for routine processes.
Provide warehouse support pertaining to warehouse logistics, including receiving, shipping, storing (stowing), selecting (picking), supply turn-in (disposal), packing (kitting and stuffing) or unpacking (downloading) and inventory of general or specialized material and equipment.
Perform inventory and documentation of supply stock using DMLSS or other military database of record; make adjustments to stock levels as directed and support excess or unserviceable material disposal processes.
Review, stock, and re-supply medical logistics items; remove and replace all outdated or expired items from shelves or kitted EXMEDS.
Perform quality control on transaction records and file documents appropriately and promptly.
Research quality assurance messages using DMLSS or other military database of record.
Review a wide variety of documents to ensure proper information is included; obtain missing information from supporting documents, supervisor, or specialist/analyst and resolve inconsistencies or discrepancies.
Perform receiving duties including receiving, unloading, and processing incoming shipments; check accompanying documentation against containers or packing labels; report over, short, or damaged items; open containers and manage dunnage and other packing materials; generate labels and route or move material to staging areas or stow locations.
Perform inventory control duties as part of a large production, sustainment, and distribution operation, including counting, material handling, and inventory analysis.
Stow material on EXMED platforms as directed; prepare material for rapid deployment.
Pick, Pack, Preserve, and Crate (PPP&C) items for kitting and shipping of EXMEDS using standard packing materials and methods.
Perform administrative tasks such as word processing, data entry, and maintenance of electronic documents or files.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization; be responsible for assigned sections/areas.
Required Skills and Abilities
Specialized experience in general supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, warehousing, and operation of material handling equipment.
Maintain certification for daily operation of various warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, side lifts, cherry pickers).
Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment during the duty day (steel toe shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.).
Experience using and operating the DMLSS or other Medical Materiel Information System(s).
Ability to work in an austere work environment.
Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, and move items; lifting and carrying weights over 40 pounds.
Physical and Special Requirements
Ability to work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands.
Wear appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
Walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items as part of duties.
Lift and carry weight over 45 pounds.
Ability to work in an austere environment.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations.
Current valid driver’s license.
Ability to understand, read, and write in English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
