Job Description We have a position available for a High Voltage Transmission Engineering Lead with a specialization in utility transmission design. This position can be based out of any AECOM office located in Dallas, TX; Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Bloomfield, NJ; Burlington, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Conshohocken, PA.
This position is hybrid.
Focus: Power delivery industry experience with electrical engineering for utility‑scale transmission line development.
Responsibilities
Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV.
Develop project schedules and define technical staff for projects and daily work.
Mentor and instruct technical engineering principles, governing electrical and safety codes.
Instruct and teach staff in using computer systems, software, tools, equipment, and company‑owned motor vehicles.
Provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
Collaborate with department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures reflecting best engineering practices.
Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company‑wide initiatives.
Maintain relationships with existing clients and pursue opportunities with potential future clients.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of experience or equivalent.
Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.
Experience with PLS‑CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
Professional disposition and openness when planning and executing projects.
Ability to supervise a team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work quality.
Advanced knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and daily integration.
Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry‑relevant standards.
Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

Offered compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000 per year.
