We are seeking a Buyer II to join our dynamic team. This role is instrumental in sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials from approved suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance. You will support new product introductions, drive cost‑reduction initiatives, and manage supplier performance through scorecards and strategic negotiations.
Responsibilities
Buy, source, and expedite materials and commodities from approved vendor lists, both locally and overseas.
Maintain on‑time delivery and quality requirements of materials from suppliers.
Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers.
Execute cost‑reduction initiatives and monitor supplier scorecards for cost, delivery, and quality.
Support inventory management, MRB, RVN, material availability, and quality management objectives.
Collaborate on Supply Chain initiatives and strategies to continuously optimize MPV and reduce unfavorable PPV.
Understand supplier capabilities, market trends, and technologies for assigned commodities.
Work with Materials Quote Analysts to quote new and existing materials and re‑quote to capitalize on cost‑reduction opportunities.
Make tactical buying decisions and resolve invoice issues for payment approvals.
Order, reschedule, and cancel materials based on requisitions and MRP output.
Maintain procurement records, documentation, and metrics.
Coordinate with logistics to receive materials in the warehouse.
Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
Strong communication skills with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Proficient in Windows‑based operating systems, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from managers and the general public.
Analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to handle standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
Educational/Certification Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management, Business, Materials, or Industrial Engineering.
APICS certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
At least 2 years of purchasing or materials experience.
Knowledge of MRP system.
Experience performing in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers; sit for sustained periods; wear personal protective equipment.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $67,800.00 and $108,400.00 USD/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements such as variable pay and discretionary awards. If hired, the employee will be in an “at‑will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time.
