Pitch Aeronautics has developed a drone to install wire sensors, bird diverters, and other equipment on power lines. The drone‑deployable line sensors wirelessly transmit environmental and line characteristics to an online secure API to help utilities push more power through existing lines, prevent wildfires, and improve grid reliability. Role Description
This is a full‑time on‑site role for an Electrical Engineer located in Boise, ID. The role will be responsible for developing drone‑deployable sensors and will assist with other startup programming and electrical engineering tasks. Responsibilities
Develop next‑generation wireless drone‑deployable line sensor Assist with drone electrical engineering and miscellaneous tasks Minimum Qualifications
B.S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 3 years of engineering work experience Experience with Arm Cortex programming Experience with C, C++ Experience writing and testing sensor drivers Experience integrating various communication protocols (I2C, UART, CAN, etc.) Experience with embedded coding Desired Qualifications
Experience with wireless communications Experience with remote firmware deployment and chip‑to‑chip reprogramming Experience with RF detection of partial discharge Power line sensor experience Experience with APIs & Cloud Interfaces PX4 Autopilot experience Circuit and PCB design Java experience Python experience Highly motivated Confident and respectful of others Creative thinker Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers Benefits
