Physician Assistant (PA-C) Full-time inpatient and outpatient opportunity located at AdventHealth Celebration. The group is seeking a surgical physician assistant to join a growing general surgery team in the greater Celebration area. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with multiple physicians and APPs in inpatient and outpatient settings, have a solid surgical foundation, and possess first assist experience.
General Summary
The PA-C, under the supervision of a physician who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
Patient management and surgical first assist, including skin biopsies, I&D, catheter removals, complex wound care, hernia surgery, abdominal wall procedures, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and lumps & bumps
Performs patient histories and physical exams in office and hospital settings: new patients, follow-ups, pre/post-operative
Handles daily patient rounds, patient education and discharge summaries
Orders and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., routine labs, X-ray, ultrasound)
Monitors patient course of treatment and makes referrals as needed
Collaborates with physicians and staff to provide consistent care
Flexibility to work at AdventHealth Celebration and participate in call rotation including rounding
Knowledge and Skills Required Enthusiastic team player
Flexible, adaptable to change
Willingness to learn
Schedule Details Schedule: Monday to Thursday
Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
Call is required (two evenings per week); call includes hospital rounding
Hospitals covered: AH Celebration
Required Education and Experience Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
Licensure, Certification, and Registration Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license
Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
