The company is headquartered in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio.

The organization seeks a credentialed actuary to join our Claims Actuary team, working in tandem with the Reserving and Claims departments to enhance profitable growth. The Active Actuary will be an integrated business partner of Claims, providing an analytically focused view of claims characteristics and performance.

Roles & Responsibilities

Analysis of frequency and severity trends and drivers

Identify opportunities regarding claims performance

Monitor loss adjustment expenses and optimize them

Validate initial case reserving methodology and values

Monitor case reserve adequacy and trends

Collaborate on catastrophe bulk reserve establishment

Measure and forecast benefits of claims initiatives

Facilitate interdepartmental discussions on claim observations and initiatives

Lead development of new or enhanced claims reporting

Interact regularly with Claims, Product Management, Actuarial Pricing, Reserving, and Finance

Opportunity to enhance business acumen through interaction with Underwriting, IT, and other actuaries in the Munich Re organization

Qualifications Required

Committed pursuit of FCAS designation

5+ years experience in an actuarial capacity in Property & Casualty Insurance

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar quantitative background

Strong analytical abilities and advanced mathematical/statistical concepts

Logical, timely analytical problem‑solving skills

Superior written and oral communication skills

Effective interdepartmental interaction skills

Strong command of Excel and either Access or Power‑Line SQL

Some knowledge of VBA programming

Preferred

ACAS or FCAS certification

Experience with Predictive Modeling

Some management experience
