Job Description At Regions, the Capital Markets Agency Underwriting Analyst works within the Real Estate Capital Markets Project Finance Group (RECMPF) to complete financial analysis and borrower due diligence, and helps coordinate underwriting and loan closings.
The RECMPF Group is housed within the Capital Markets Group and provides client‑specific off‑balance sheet financing solutions through its various Agency Products – Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintains a current and comprehensive knowledge of Lending Program Guidelines
Conducts in-depth review of sponsor/guarantor financials, including balance sheets, income statements, tax returns and real estate schedules to determine ability to support guarantees
Assists Underwriters in scrubbing and analyzing information from Client for accuracy
Communicates with sponsors regarding due diligence items required from the borrower/sponsor
Assists borrowers with agency forms, ensuring they are accurate and complete
Follows up with internal team and clients to obtain all necessary information and to clarify any financial and/or property specific information
Tracks orders for appraisals, tile reports, environmental reports, legal formation documents, credit reports and any other documents required for processing the loan
Works with internal and external counsel to deliver loan documents, obtain appropriate signatures, and deliver to escrow for closing
Assists underwriters with completing required forms, and reviews and verifies customer due diligence to ensure adherence to all compliance policy
Completes post‑closing funding procedures and delivers closed transactions to Loan Servicing
Prepares loan status reports and documents as required
Actively interacts with lending personnel to ensure timely analysis and closing of proposed loans
Actively interacts with multiple internal and external parties involved in the lending process, including originators, brokers, sponsors, third party report providers, counsel, and credit officers
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
A high school degree and three (3) years of commercial real estate lending and/or equity investment experience with a bank, brokerage firm, insurance company, pension fund or private equity firm will substitute
Preferences
Three (3) years of commercial real estate lending and/or equity investment experience with a bank, brokerage firm, insurance company, pension fund or private equity firm
Experience in the multifamily asset type
Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac experience preferred

Compensation Details Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions.
Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
Job Range Target: $68,831.33 USD
Median: $86,006.70 USD
Incentive Pay Plans: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan.
Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
