Contracts Specialist
to join our
U.S. Legal Team . This position will be located in
Louisville, Colorado . This is a
hybrid
role, and you will be expected to be in the office at least three (3) days a week or as discussed with the manager. The role will report to the Corporate Counsel, North America, and the focus will be on both commercial contracts and government/GSA contracts. Additionally, some travel is expected by the employee to Vaisala’s affiliate sites including, but not restricted to Boston, MA. Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing Federal, State and local government contracts, as well as contracts with international government entities. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing commercial contracts and subcontracts, as well as vendor and independent contractor agreements, nondisclosure agreements, etc. Working with other members of the legal and sales coordination teams to assist with the management of Vaisala’s General Services Administration (GSA) contract, including the implementation of new internal policies and procedures to support compliance as necessary. Assisting in managing global Trade compliance, specifically export control administration and tariff mitigation. Providing support for Governmental, facility, and other company audits. Advising project managers, sales managers, and other team members in preparation, negotiation and management of RFP/RFQs, bid preparation, contracts, and managing relationships with customers and subcontractors. Providing business-oriented solutions to manage all legal inquiries, conducting risk analysis from a legal perspective, and centralizing legal documentation storage. Assisting with the creation and maintenance of document storage/retention procedures. Providing support to sales managers and sales coordination teams to complete supplier/customer questionnaires, representation and certifications forms, and onboarding forms. Traveling occasionally to other Vaisala offices as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2-5 years of contract administration experience, including at least 2 years of Government contract administration experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of the various sections included in commercial contracts is beneficial. Comprehensive knowledge of FAR/DFAR/CAR/AMS is preferred. GSA knowledge and experience is highly desired. Maintaining a Global Mindset while working with key corporate stakeholders is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills is an integral part of this position. Strong negotiation skills are preferred for this role. Ability to build internal and external relationships through cooperation and information sharing is fundamental for succeeding in this role. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Aptitude for detail-oriented work is key to succeeding in this role. Anticipated Salary
ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE:
$80,000-$90,000 annually combined with our performance bonus plan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data based upon the applicable position.
