Location : Central Office (OKC) – 123 Robert S Kerr Salary : up to $75,000.00, based on education and experience Full Time / Part Time : Full-time Work Schedule : Monday - Friday Primary Hours : 8:00am-5:00pm Position Description : The Staffing and Engagement Consultant reports to the Allied Health Technical Manager under the Allied Health Department, within Family Health Services, and provides support for transformation and professional growth to the SoonerStart Early Intervention program, the federally and state funded early intervention program for infants and toddlers with disabilities ages 0-3 and their families, child guidance service and other areas of the agency employing allied health professionals. Allied Health Specialists can include but are not limited to Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Behavioral Health Specialists, and Child Development Specialists. Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Maintains communication between all programs within the OSDH that employ allied health professionals Maintains communication with county health departments regarding ongoing services and community needs Assists the program manager in identifying and maintaining a list of boards and certification bodies for allied health professionals Researches national and state guidelines and supervisory requirements for SLP Assistants, OT Assistants, PT Assistants, etc. Identifies opportunities to utilize SLP Assistants, OT, PT assistants within county health departments Makes recommendations to the Allied Health Technical Manager and provides statewide consultation regarding delivery of services by a professional assistant within licensure and certification scope Develops and maintains a list of Oklahoma universities with allied health programs Identifies and secures partnerships with universities to promote public health opportunities for allied health providers Develops framework and contracts with universities to enhance internship and practicum opportunities Researches methods of recruitment including partnerships with state and local level initiatives Identifies opportunities for recruitment efforts and assists with process Liaison between Allied Health Service leads and HR to maintain job postings and recruitment standards Develops the framework for recruitment and support to enhance use of contractors within Allied Health Service programs Identifies components to assist retention of existing allied health providers Identifies obstacles that could impact retention Reviews staffing patterns and program activities that impact recruitment and retention Participates in quality improvement activities Participates in staff activities including hiring, recognition, and adverse actions when required Assist with maintenance of the Allied Health Service SharePoint Provide consultation, training, and presentations in at least one area of subject matter expertise Assist in coordinating statewide meetings, trainings, conferences hosted by Allied Health Service Programs Establishes trust and maintains relationships with cross-functional teams and internal and external customers Being present in the office is an essential function of this job Other duties as assigned Other Duties

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of completion of a master’s degree or current enrollment in pursuit of a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Child Development Specialist, Behavioral Health, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Registered Nurse, Dietician/Nutrition Therapist, and Special Education plus three (3) years of professional experience; preference will be given to individuals within an allied health profession; those with a certification or licensure of one of the above listed Allied Health Professionals will be given preference. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to Allied Health Professionals Knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of various programs being administered in the county health departments and community partners Knowledge of the organization, development, and administration of the programs for which responsibility is assigned Knowledge of contract development Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities that pertain to recruitment and retention Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing Ability to promote and present on allied health professions within the public health arena Ability to communicate management goals effectively to staff and public Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office setting with a climate-controlled setting and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computer and phones.
