We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and manufacturing professionals in a fast-paced aerospace production environment.

Position Summary

Manufacturing Engineer supports daily operations of the Manufacturing Engineering department focusing on the development, optimization, and execution of manufacturing processes for aerospace components. This is an important hands-on role and requires using the understanding of technical concepts, engineering methods and procedures in the manufacturing process. Working knowledge of CNC milling, CNC turning, Welding and Composites manufacturing is a plus. This role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Support the highest standards of safety and environmental practices.

Support new development and qualification programs with effective tool design and planning activities.

Create work instructions for manufacture of tooling and flight hardware on assigned programs as required.

Assist with first article processes with regards to tooling usage and flight hardware manufacturing.

Provide technical shop floor and vendor support as well as develop strong working relationships with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.

Technical liaison for Program Management and NuSpace customers on supporting programs.

Provide technical expertise to Quality on production non-conformances using RCCA methodologies and providing rework/repair recommendations to Engineering.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing capabilities and processes within NuSpace and its suppliers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college.

Working experience in Aerospace Manufacturing a plus.

Desired Characteristics

Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting (SolidWorks, CREO, Siemens NX, or similar).

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Proficiency with MS Office application (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred (but not required)

Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation.

Hands-on experience or coursework related to machining, fabrication, or assembly processes a plus.

Fundamental understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing principles a plus.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.

5-10 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering for aerospace components.

Working experience with Siemens NX CAD (NX 9+) software required.

Must be able to read, interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing principles.

Must be able to navigate through and apply detailed customer specifications for aerospace component production

Experience introducing new aerospace product into manufacturing.

Experience providing technical support for milling, turning, and grinding

Experience working with various metals including steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.

Strong verbal/written communication skills.

Strong project management skills.
