As a QA Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. This position will have you spending approximately 80% of your time in the laboratory and 20% on the production floor, providing a balanced combination of hands‑on lab work and floor interaction.
Responsibilities
Monitor, evaluate, and report analytical results of products and raw materials, alerting out‑of‑compliance results.
Administer the company's Quality Program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
Review and develop QA procedures.
Regularly review production and receiving records.
Conduct sensory evaluations, visual inspections, and analyses of raw ingredients and finished products.
Maintain sample retain library.
Perform final wash inspections of production rooms.
Troubleshoot product discrepancies.
Conduct internal audits of cGMP areas and premises.
Perform tasks as required by the Food Safety Calendar.
Conduct environmental analyses and titration of sanitation chemicals.
Participate in finished goods hold/release system.
Provide technical support to R&D and Operations.
Investigate customer complaints.
Ensure compliance with third‑party audits (BRC, Safe Food/Safe Feed, HACCP).
Create and maintain production documents, including archival storage and certificates of analysis.
Essential Skills
Knowledge in laboratory procedures, chemistry, food science, and quality control.
Experience with audits, GMP practices, and food manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in titration and environmental analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, or a related field preferred (no experience required).
High School Diploma/GED required with 3+ years of industry experience (Food, Pharma, or Medical Device).
6+ months of food manufacturing experience is a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Willingness to work independently and make decisions on their own, as verified by references.
Work Environment This position is for the 3rd shift, operating from Sunday to Thursday, 9 pm to 5:30 am. The work environment is a standard food manufacturing setting, which can be dusty and loud at times. The 3rd shift crew is known for being reserved yet collaborative, with each shift consisting of a production supervisor, a production lead, a QA Technician, and 8‑10 production operators. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and future leadership potential. Additionally, you will receive billable holiday pay for 6 standard holidays and accrue 4 days of billable PTO.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $28.00/hr.
