Vantor is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join the Radiometric Calibration, Assessment, and Monitoring (RadCAM) team in Longmont, CO. The RadCAM team is responsible for the relative and absolute radiometric calibration, assessment, and monitoring of Vantor's constellation. The team also performs radiometric analysis on Vantor’s products and supports community outreach in the radiometric field.
In This Role, You Will
Support the RadCAM team’s software workflows within the overall Vantor software development environment.
Perform service design and architecture, and perform service reliability monitoring on existing systems.
Develop and test software that integrates with the existing ground system through the Vantor continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline.
Collaborate with RadCAM’s Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to commission future sensors and enhance the current capacity of Vantor’s radiometric calibration operations.
Provide an interface between RadCAM team and the greater Vantor software development teams and assist in guiding RadCAM team’s adoption of software best practices.
Design/develop new services and feature improvements to existing services.
Collaborate with other software engineers on design/development efforts.
Resolve software service defects as they are identified.
Provide architectural and design advice on the future direction of a cloud-based distributed tech stack.
Develop automated unit, integration, and functional tests.
Monitor the reliability of services.
Troubleshoot operational issues.
Provide software design and technical support to members of the RadCAM team.
Support deadlines and communicate issues/results.
Participate in Communities of Practice for adherence and improvement of best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen
Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field
Two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
Minimum 5 years of software development of complex software systems
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
Expertise in Python
Experience with SOA/REST/JSON/AWS
Experience with supporting developed code in a pipeline deployment workflow
Experience in using Linux and developing applications that run on Linux
Experience with operational support of an AWS Cloud Infrastructure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems
Experience with imaging processing
Experience with test automation languages/frameworks: Pytest with extensive mocking
Experience working in an Agile process
Experience with ops support of a complex Linux-based system
Experience with PostgreSQL
Pay Transparency
The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
