Overview Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for manufacturing excellence? CAES, a pioneer in advanced electronic systems, is seeking a Senior Manager, Manufacturing to join our innovative team in Woburn, MA. In this pivotal role, you will drive the production of cutting‑edge technologies that empower mission‑critical applications across aerospace, defense and beyond. Your expertise will ensure operational efficiency, exceptional product quality, and seamless collaboration across departments. With a commitment to continuous improvement, you’ll lead a talented team in achieving performance targets while championing a culture of innovation and safety.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement integrated departmental plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved; review plan execution, make appropriate adjustments and resolve issues.

Provide input on the development of departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with company vision and strategy; measure performance to plan for multiple projects.

Manage all production and support functions for the assigned value stream(s), including product assembly and test manufacturing engineering and the transition of new products to manufacturing.

Oversee activities from receipt of customer contract through shipment of product and beyond (aftermarket sales, spares and product support).

Lead the value stream team, with direct reporting and dotted‑line relationships to functional area managers (QA, IT, etc.).

Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, including Lean Procurement (Kanban replenishment) practices and Lean Accounting principles.

Ensure total cost (material, labor and overhead) goals are met.

Supervise assigned personnel, including selection, training, performance evaluation and related duties.

Qualifications – Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum 6 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 6 years experience working in Production Manufacturing.

Electronics manufacturing experience.

Experience with a Build‑to‑Print Process.

Experience with Firm‑Fixed‑Price (FFP) or Cost‑Plus Projects.

Effective presentation skills – ability to present to large groups at all levels of the organization.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong computer knowledge in MS Windows Suite.

Position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware controlled by U.S. export laws. Eligibility requires being a “U.S. Person” under U.S. export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

Aerospace and defense industry experience.

Solid working knowledge of ERP/MRP.

Experience working in High Mix Low Volume Assembly Process.

Strategic thinking and development of operational plans.

Knowledge of business finance and ability to link financial outcomes with operations actions and strategy.

Knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement.

Proven ability to lead operational transformations.

Ability to work across functions in a matrix organization.Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

Active security clearance.

Salary Range: $133,947.39 – $207,319.85 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
