Recruiting Manager @ UNITY Search, Human Resources and Accounting Operations Unity Search is partnering with a fast-growing global FinTech company to hire a Director of Payroll who will oversee all aspects of domestic and international payroll operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while driving continuous improvement and scalability within a dynamic, high-growth organization.

Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage bi-weekly U.S. and Canada payrolls, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Lead monthly international payroll operations, partnering with in-country providers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with global labor, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate general ledger reporting, reconciliations, and payroll accounting processes.
Drive process standardization, automation, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
Provide responsive, professional customer service to employees regarding payroll, deductions, and related inquiries.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, as well as federal, state, and international regulations, including wage and hour laws.
Monitor changes in payroll laws, taxation, and labor standards, adjusting company processes to maintain compliance.
Manage global payroll service implementations and system integrations across HR, accounting, and finance platforms.
Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning for payroll operations, including system assessments and global initiatives.
Administer equity transactions and ensure proper payroll treatment of stock compensation.
Manage state and local tax registrations and ensure compliance with multi-jurisdictional tax requirements.
Act as the subject matter expert during internal and external payroll audits.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of progressive payroll experience, including management of multiple pay groups and tax jurisdictions.
Proven leadership skills and experience managing high-performing payroll teams.
Strong knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and international payroll regulations.
Hands‑on experience with ADP payroll systems (implementation experience strongly preferred).
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities; adept at identifying and resolving system and process issues.
Experience generating and analyzing payroll reports.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to audit and reconcile complex data accurately.
Strong understanding of tax compliance, employment laws, and stock compensation as they relate to payroll.
