Overview The Manager, Global Sustainability at AIT Worldwide Logistics will be instrumental in formulating and executing sustainability strategies with an emphasis on decarbonization across air, ocean, and ground transportation. This role will lead environmental initiatives while working collaboratively with customers to support them in reaching their sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities

Execution of Decarbonization Strategies: Collaborate with carriers to implement initiatives aimed at reducing emissions across air, ocean, and ground transportation. Design and launch commercial programs to support these efforts

Collaborative Customer Engagement: Partner with clients to identify their sustainability goals and co-create customized solutions that address their specific needs

Integrated Team Collaboration: Work across operations, sales, and other key departments to embed sustainability into core practices. Lead cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable environmental impact

Stakeholder Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Engage internal and external stakeholders to champion sustainability initiatives and foster active participation. Leverage process improvement methodologies to address environmental challenges effectively

Sustainability Data Management and Insights: Monitor, analyze, and report on key sustainability metrics and carbon emissions. Integrate ESG considerations into business strategy while identifying and mitigating sustainability-related risks. Translate complex data into actionable insights using advanced tools and methodologies

Sustainability Research and Technological Innovation: Stay informed on emerging technologies, evolving regulations, and best practices in sustainable transportation. Harness advanced tools to monitor logistics operations and minimize environmental impact

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Biology, Business Management, Sustainability Studies, or related field (Required)

Experience 5+ years experience in sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance, corporate social responsibility (CSR); Green building standards (e.g., LEED, WELL), Sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Renewable Energy & Emissions Reduction: Experience with carbon footprint analysis

Climate Strategy & Reporting (e.g., CDP, GRI): Familiarity with climate disclosure platforms and sustainability reporting standards

Green Logistics & Supply Chain Optimization: Reducing emissions through route optimization, modal shifts, and packaging improvements

Circular Economy & Waste Management: Implementing recycling, reuse, and waste reduction strategies in logistics operations

Regulatory Knowledge (EPA, SEC, EU CSRD, etc.): Understanding and applying environmental regulations and compliance frameworks

Data Analytics & Environmental Software: Using tools to track, analyze, and report sustainability metrics

Digital Literacy (IoT, AI in logistics): Leveraging technology to monitor and reduce environmental impact in logistics operations
