Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will build a category strategy for Protein or services using approved buying programs, providing internal customers with sourcing strategies, a world‑class supply base, and driving cost savings while maintaining service levels across the corporation.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage assigned categories.
Plan and implement sourcing strategies in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Establish strategic relationships with the supply base to deliver cost‑saving opportunities.
Negotiate, contract, and implement preferred supplier agreements.
Lead cross‑functional teams in sourcing initiatives.
Research market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier models, and historical spend to inform negotiations.
Provide clear position reporting and facilitate consistent application of volume estimates.
Draft RFIs, RFPs, and conduct associated analysis.
Ensure service and quality requirements are met, including innovation and product improvements.
Work with Operations and Brands to resolve supply‑chain issues.
Resolve supplier and internal customer issues to ensure a successful implementation process.
Improve cost savings through continuous improvement activities.
Manage supplier relationships and track KPIs to evaluate and report performance.
Maintain continuity of services by working with high‑quality suppliers and managing performance.
Collaborate with cross‑functional groups across operating units.
Apply advanced sourcing practices and lead innovative technology approaches.
Develop and maintain positive, proactive relationships with suppliers and internal personnel.
Implement supplier strategy using industry modeling and appropriate metrics.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree.
7+ years experience in procurement or related field.
Experience with procurement/strategic sourcing end‑user expectations and requirements.
Food industry experience desirable.
Experience implementing and executing cross‑functional, complex projects.
Material forecasting and supply/demand analysis skills.
Proficiency with SAP, Right Angle, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
In‑office presence in Omaha, 3 days per week (Tuesday‑Thursday).
Approximately 10‑20% travel.
Compensation Pay Range: $107,000 – $156,000.
