Job Description As a
Security Professional - Financial Institution Patrol
in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as financial institutions.
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol financial institution locations, help deter security‑related incidents while maintaining a visible presence, interact with employees and visitors, provide exceptional customer service, and respond to incidents with professionalism and care. Your role is essential in supporting a secure and welcoming environment, reflecting our values of teamwork, innovation, and integrity.

What You’ll Do
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities
Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures and site‑specific policies, as well as emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem‑solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter of the location, which may include indoor and outdoor areas typically associated with financial institutions.
Observe and report any unusual activity or potential security‑related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with controlling access to the premises, verifying identification as needed to help maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and observations as required by site policies.
Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site contacts to address client needs and requests.
What We’re Looking For
Availability across various days and shifts
Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available
Minimum Requirements
Must have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification is preferred.
Possession of a Security Professional Guard Card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
