About the Department Perimeter College Department of Mathematics provides students with a strong foundation to transfer to a four-year college and continue into the workforce or graduate studies. Math clubs and programs such as STEM or MESA help to increase academic performance. Students also have opportunities to compete in national tests sponsored by the American Mathematical Association and gain access to support from tutoring, scholarships and grants.
Position Description The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track instructor, assistant professor, or associate professor position in Mathematics. Mathematics is the science and study of numbers, shapes and spaces and how they apply to the universe in which we live. Mathematics examines operations, interrelations, combinations, generalizations, abstractions, configurations, structure, measurement and transformations. This is a teaching-focused position: 80% of the workload is instruction, with service and scholarly and creative activity accounting for 10% each. Perimeter faculty are responsible for providing 27-32 credit hours of instruction per academic year and engaging in service to the department, college, and university. Perimeter College faculty maintain a campus presence, and the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to early undergraduate teaching and learning, and the ability to thrive at an access institution. Perimeter College is a multi-campus institution, and the teaching assignment may be on any of the college's campuses.

Required Education Instructor:
A minimum of a Master's degree required in the teaching discipline or a minimum of a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate hours in relevant coursework (completed by the anticipated date of appointment) is required.
Salary Range: $53,350 - $58,350
Assistant Professor:
A Ph.D. in the teaching field is required by the time of the appointment; OR: must have previously held the associate professor rank at a comparable institution for a minimum of one academic year.
Salary Range: $53,350 - $65,000
Associate Professor:
A Ph.D. in the teaching discipline is required, and must have previously held the associate professor rank at a comparable institution for a minimum of one academic year. Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
College teaching experience. One year is preferred and can include experience as a teaching assistant at a college or university.
Experience teaching online and using a distance learning platform.
Experience or demonstrated interest in high-impact educational practices, scholarship of teaching and learning, building college-to-career linkages, and/or other pedagogical initiatives that enhance student success.
Experience or demonstrated interest in scholarship in the discipline and/or scholarship of teaching and learning.
Ph.D. is preferred for Instructor of Math.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods with a demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.
Ability to create a sense of belonging for a varied student population and facilitate student learning in both the in-person and virtual learning environments.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills (able to maintain appropriate records).
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve discipline, department, or college goals.
