About the Role OT Cyber Security Engineer – Austin, TX. Functioning at an administrator level, you will provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain OT security stack hardware, software, and infrastructure. You will support NERC CIP compliance and serve as a technical resource for security products across OT networks and support systems.

Responsibilities

Mature and maintain the security stack, including configuration monitoring, logging, alerting, vulnerability assessment, asset inventory, and change management solutions.

Install, rebuild, and configure servers, hardware peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage per operational standards.

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and documentation.

Contribute to and maintain baselines in a challenging OT environment.

Research and recommend innovative solutions and automation for repetitive tasks.

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of hardware and key processes.

Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled operations such as backups.

Conduct regular security monitoring to detect possible intrusions and classify threat vectors.

Provide Level 2 and 3 support across the LSPG organization.

Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.

Develop and update operational, configuration, and procedural documentation.

Create dashboards, reports, alerts, specifications, policies, and related work products.

Monitor Electronic Access Control and Monitoring tools for security events.

Analyze compliance and security events.

Maintain accurate baselines and documentation according to NERC standards.

Assist technical staff with developing and maintaining RSAWs for CIP compliance.

Assist with regulatory reporting for RTO/ISO, regional reliability entities, NERC, and FERC.

Maintain knowledge of RTO/ISO protocols, operating guidelines, and regulatory updates.

Support internal and external audits and mock audits by providing evidence and responding to RFIs.

Attend NERC, RTO/ISO, and Regional Entity meetings and workshops to stay current on NERC CIP standards.

Qualifications

Self‑motivated, disciplined, with effective skills for the role.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

Four to six years of OT Cyber Security Engineer experience.

Experience with configuration monitoring, logging, alerting, vulnerability assessment, asset inventory, and change management solutions.

Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, or other automation.

Experience supporting CIP compliance in the electric utility business.

Experience with implementation and maintenance of security and compliance solutions.

Ideally You Will Have

Experience with Tripwire Enterprise, IP360, Bigfix, Splunk, ChangeGear, SharePoint, or comparable solutions.

Knowledge of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).

Advanced IT certification (MCSA, MSCE) or GIAC, ISC2, CompTIA, or related industry certifications.

Strong communication, organization, critical thinking skills, and knowledge of modern software applications.

Understanding of electric utility business principles, compliance programs, and operations.
