Kroll's Financial Instruments and Technology practice is a leading valuation and advisory solutions provider for a range of clientele, including asset managers, hedge funds, fund administrators, banks, insurers, private equity firms, and investment firms. Our professionals work on a wide range of valuation and advisory projects covering financial instruments such as structured products, portfolios of whole loans, alternative investments, private equity, esoteric assets, and more. Day-to-day responsibilities

Experience with credit analysis, structured securities, and whole loan valuations: RMBS, CMBS, ABS, etc.; tools include Intex, Bloomberg, Andrew Davidson & Co., and other valuation tools Technical strength in valuing a wide variety of asset classes, valuation theory, methodologies, applications, and fundamentals of constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models; use of DCF, market approaches, Monte Carlo, and other bespoke approaches Manage client engagements from day-to-day interaction with the client through staffing and managing resources and work plans to timely completion Be assigned a wide variety of projects and given responsibilities appropriate to experience and capabilities Lead client engagements and work with more junior team members to execute valuation and analytics projects, including client deal team interviews, managing engagement economics, team management, developing and reviewing models, report writing, and researching market information Write technical reports, client-focused marketing materials, and presentations Maintain operational client relationships, delivering exceptional service and a deep understanding of client needs and highest quality work product Interview clients to gather data pertinent to the engagement Develop deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets, serving as a firm resource and sharing knowledge through training and mentoring Field client, auditor, and investor questions; articulate and defend a modelling approach under scrutiny Essential traits

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related quantitative discipline. Master’s degree or further accreditation (e.g., CFA) is beneficial Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, including constructing and reviewing valuation models; experience with DCF, market approaches, and other structured investment and whole loan models (Fewer years may be considered for candidates with higher academic qualifications, such as a PhD or a second Master’s degree) Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated leadership experience including managing and developing client relationships, mentoring, and staff development Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior management Ability to manage confidential, sensitive information Strong analytical and attention-to-detail capabilities Ability to adapt to new tasks quickly Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated integrity and leadership potential Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments in a team environment, and balance long-term development with short-term deliverables Experience working with diverse teams About Kroll
