Faculty Responsibilities
Teach and direct didactic and clinical courses in MSN‑Family Nurse Practitioner, undergraduate BSN, or both.
Provide evidence of scholarship with a particular research focus and advance the teacher‑scholar model.
Engage in service to the university, profession, and community: advising students, participating in campus and system‑wide communities, maintaining office hours, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in academic functions.
Contribute to program assessment, administrative and committee work, and research/innovation initiatives.
Foster a commitment to the CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 through excellent teaching, advising, and mentoring.
Qualifications
Current, active, unencumbered Registered Nursing License in California, or eligibility to obtain it by date of hire.
Master’s degree in nursing or equivalent health‑related field.
Doctorate in Nursing or related field (completion by the time of appointment in August 2026).
Clinical recency that fulfills California Board of Nursing requirements (section 1425 of the California Code of Regulations).
For graduate program teaching: NP license and national NP certification with appropriate clinical recency.
For undergraduate program teaching: clinical recency in at least one BRN‑established content area (psych/mental health, medical/surgical nursing, pediatrics, obstetrics/maternal child, geriatrics).
Preferred Qualifications
Clinical currency in Psych/Mental Health.
Nurse Practitioner capable of teaching in both BSN and MSN programs.
Simulation education experience.
Rank and Salary Service credit depends upon academic preparation and professional experience. Salary range: $95,000 – $103,956 for assistant professor, and $108,000 – $113,172 for associate professor. New appointments are not eligible for tenure. Advanced rank may be recommended after hire based on a substantial record of teaching, scholarship, and service.
