Vedder Price’s Chicago office is looking for a Practice Development Coordinator. The Practice Development Coordinator (PD Coordinator) works under the supervision of a Practice Development Manager (PD Manager). This position is responsible for supporting a wide range of marketing and business development activities for all practice groups across the firm, and works closely with the Practice Development team and the marketing department at large. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, a strong communicator, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment. This position requires a balance of independent initiative and collaborative teamwork.

As a Practice Development Coordinator, your duties will include but not be limited to:

Draft and produce marketing proposals and RFP responses using a mix of the proposal repository and new content development, final document preparation and follow‑up.

Edit, maintain and update practice‑specific pages of the firm website, as well as marketing collateral and attorney bios; draft, review and contribute to key messaging and content of brochures and other collateral materials.

Maintain current and accurate case lists, descriptions, case studies and client lists for use in pitches, proposals, RFPs, including league‑table rankings as necessary.

Provide research support for various initiatives utilizing research subscriptions and databases. Prepare submissions to legal directories such as Chambers and Legal 500.

Draft internal and external communications and assist with posting on our website and through our social media channels as needed.

Utilize firm resources to complete administrative tasks.

Support the events team with seminars and other event‑related activities, including materials preparation, set up and onsite support as needed.

Assist with special projects as assigned.

Skills & Competencies:

Thorough knowledge of the marketing department and its overall purpose and objectives, and the ability to complete moderately complex assignments independently.

Ability to set day‑to‑day priorities based on incoming requests and overall objectives of the firm and the requesting party, and to anticipate issues and opportunities and address them with little or no supervision.

Ability to identify and effectively use data, experience and judgment to formulate realistic and sound points of view and effectively communicate the same to team members and attorneys.

Self‑starter who thrives on juggling numerous projects on tight deadlines, is capable of working in a fast‑paced environment and has excellent attention to detail.

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, in oral and written form, with people at all levels within the firm and externally.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field preferred.

Minimum of two years of marketing, business development or proposal experience, preferably in a professional services company or law firm. Legal marketing experience is preferred.

Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

Computer Skills:

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite required.

Experience with Intapp CRM or other CRM database a plus.

Working knowledge of InDesign, Capital IQ, Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters Monitor Suite a plus.

Compensation Range: $60,000/yr to $70,000/yr.
