Fox Broadcasting is seeking a seasoned, strategic, and creatively driven Director, Current Programming – Scripted to join our network team. The Director will play a critical leadership role in managing the active slate of scripted live‑action comedy and animated series, guiding each show from greenlight through final delivery.
Responsibilities
Oversee day‑to‑day current programming efforts for a portfolio of active scripted series.
Oversee the development and execution of supplemental content and assets tied to current shows, including marketing spots and behind‑the‑scenes features.
Partner with showrunners, writers, and executive producers throughout all phases of production: preproduction, shooting, post‑production, and delivery.
Monitor and support creative execution, ensuring scripts, cuts, and final episodes reflect the network’s standards and align with broadcast requirements.
Lead internal collaboration with Production, Business Affairs, Creative, Marketing, Finance, and Post teams to maintain consistency, resolve issues, and streamline workflows.
Manage production timelines and budgets.
Represent FOX in all major creative milestones, including table reads, run‑throughs, filming, and post‑production reviews.
Provide actionable creative notes on scripts, cuts, and marketing materials to support the storytelling vision of each series.
Ensure delivery of content meets all technical, creative, and legal standards.
Track and report on the performance, health, and renewal viability of each series, including cost reports, ratings/metrics, and talent dynamics.
Stay current on guild, union, and labor compliance requirements and coordinate closely with labor and legal teams.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in scripted television, specifically in current programming at a studio or network.
Deep creative instincts and experience working with premium‑level comedy content.
Proven track record of managing multiple ongoing series simultaneously.
Strong existing relationships with showrunners, talent, writers, agents, and production teams.
Advanced understanding of television production cycles, scheduling, and post‑production.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and team‑management skills.
Ability to balance creative vision with business realities, including budget oversight and schedule enforcement.
Familiarity with industry regulations, guilds/unions, and tax incentive structures.
Experience with project management software.
Passion for storytelling and a commitment to supporting creative excellence.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $102,000.00 - 120,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Union represented employees will receive benefits in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
