Job Overview The Project Engineer is responsible for pre‑construction, execution and close‑out phases, coordinating with internal engineering teams and managing engineering firms to ensure projects follow processes, standards, and deliver reliable, quality, cost‑effective, and safe designs.

Responsibilities include engineering and design technical matters, project controls collaboration, progress reporting, cost control analysis, and field engineering leadership.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Field Engineers.

Support the project’s safety, quality assurance programs, and design activities.

Coordinate with Trade Superintendents and third‑party engineers (EOR).

Act as engineering liaison for construction team and internal resources.

Manage RFI process and construction documents.

Maintain site document control and permitting activities.

Coordinate As‑Built records and root‑cause analysis.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting (progress maps, POD, weekly reports).

Update engineering meetings and communications for PV and HV sites.

Project Controls Responsibilities

Collaborate with PM and Project Controller on budgeting, spend reporting, trend analysis, change order and cash flow reporting.

Provide internal and external project reporting.

Assist with PowerPoint presentations for quarterly WIP.

Maintain production trackers and crew matrices.

Provide schedule updates and cost/production analysis support.

Produce ad‑hoc reports requested by client.

Assume site operations in manager’s absence.

Salary $100,000 to $115,000 annually.

Eligible for overtime, project bonus, and per diem.

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in renewables; solar experience is a plus.

Experience as a PE in EPC firm is a plus.

Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.

Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat/BlueBeam, P6, Visio, and engineering software.

Experience coordinating two or more trades.

Candidate will relocate to project site for project duration (6–15 months).

Physical Requirements

Compliance with client safety requirements and physical exam if required.

Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights.

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance for heavier loads).

Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces.

Wear respirator and other PPE when required.

Work Location Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.

Environmental Conditions

Predominantly outdoor work with exposure to extreme heat or cold, humidity, rain, loud noise, and potential chemical exposure.
