Overview

The Department of Administration's Office of Technology and Information Services is the state’s central provider of IT services to state government agencies. We are seeking a Systems Programmer/Developer III to join our Mainframe Services team. In this role you will provide lead support and management of mainframe Direct Access Storage Device (DASD) storage and administer Resource Access Control Facility (RACF) security. Responsibilities

Perform DASD and other storage management functions including initialization, reorganization, reallocation and daily monitoring as required. Ensure data backups exist and are properly maintained. Manage RACF security, including the creation, modification and deletion of UserIDs, groups, roles and access permissions. Monitor and audit RACF access logs, identify any issues and implement correction actions to maintain data integrity and system security. Implement and maintain third party software and software maintenance as required. Coordinate and inform team members of implementation process. Thoroughly test software and provide necessary documentation. Implement system modifications required for daily operations. Coordinate and inform team members of necessary systems changes. Test changes and document modifications as required. Assist in the development, testing and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for mainframe environments and perform other related duties as assigned. Assist and support customer needs with disaster recovery processes involving their data replication and disaster recovery plan. Assist team members with daily functions and provide backup support as needed. Be available when scheduled for on-call assignment and take ownership of assigned trouble tickets until resolved. Qualifications

A high school diploma and experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software or the testing and debugging of system software. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field may be substituted for required work experience. Additional Requirements

Working knowledge of IBM's z/OS operating system and experience with the support of third party mainframe software. Fundamental knowledge and demonstrable skills in systems software installation, modification, maintenance and debugging of software. Must have extensive knowledge in the management, backup and support of mainframe DASD disk storage. Transcript and Miscellaneous
