What You'll Do
Shape Coverage Decisions: Build dynamic systems that intelligently determine what coverages customers qualify for in real-time during the quoting and policy endorsement process.
Develop Risk Intelligence: Create and optimize sophisticated risk scorecards that evaluate customer, vehicle, and property characteristics to make smart underwriting decisions.
Drive Innovation: Help modernize our technology landscape by replacing legacy systems with cutting‑edge solutions.
What You'll Build
Enterprise Backend Systems: Design and develop scalable server‑side applications, microservices, and APIs that power our risk evaluation and coverage determination platforms.
Data Processing Solutions: Build robust systems that handle high-volume transaction processing, risk calculations, and real‑time decision engines.
Integration Architecture: Create seamless connections between legacy systems and modern cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliable data flow and system interoperability.
Performance Optimization: Engineer backend solutions that prioritize system performance, reliability, and scalability to support millions of customer interactions.
Your Backend Focus
Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies.
Build and optimize database interactions, data pipelines, and system integrations.
Implement CI/CD processes and DevOps practices for backend deployments.
Design fault‑tolerant, high‑availability systems that operate behind the scenes.
Qualifications
Three years of software engineering experience.
Strong expertise in server‑side technologies: Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful services, microservices architecture.
Cloud platform experience: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for backend infrastructure.
Agile development experience: Scrum, Kanban, or XP methodologies.
System integration skills: Experience with APIs, databases, and enterprise system connectivity.
DevOps proficiency: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
Additional backend technologies: NodeJS, .NET, C#, database design.
Strong communication skills: Ability to explain complex technical backend concepts to business stakeholders.
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
Pay Philosophy The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
