Position Summary
McNair OR Surgical Technician
at CHI.
Possesses superior knowledge of the various surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation in at least three specialties; develops, organizes, and delivers continuing education topics; liaises with Instrument Techs; assures equipment is cleaned and maintained.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role.
Understands supply costs and works independently with the team to maintain quality of care while considering cost containment.
Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure.
Assists in communication with Biomedical Services regarding equipment repair or maintenance.
Educates staff in the care of instrumentation and equipment.
Job Requirements Education and Licensure
High School Diploma/GED.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required as of September 1, 2010; or grandfathered employees or LVN.
BCLS for some locations.
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years of experience.
Able to work in at least 3 different specialty areas.

Pay Range $29.44 - $43.79 per hour.
