Pay Range:

$34.15 – $47.93

Shift Details 40 hours a week – rotating day and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Perform initial triage and assessments for patients presenting to urgent care services, including telephone evaluation and advice.

Provide and coordinate therapeutic measures—medication administration (oral, topical, IM, SQ, IV push and infusion), IV access, monitoring, and discontinuation—according to standing orders and provider direction.

Document assessments, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, health counseling, and education in the electronic health record.

Maintain a clean, safe environment, manage supplies, and report defective equipment or safety hazards.

Maintain annual competencies and adhere to safety and infection control policies.

Facilitate patient referrals within SEARHC and external facilities, tracking progress and reporting outcomes.

Conduct follow‑up calls and manage case coordination to resolve delays in care.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, contribute to departmental and clinic improvement efforts, and support vaccine coordination when needed.

Respond to emergency situations as part of the triage team.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

Graduate of an accredited nursing program and qualified for the NCLEX.

Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or any U.S. state; Alaska license required for direct hire.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and renewal every three years; high‑risk competency within 3 months of hire and annually.

Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of general nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an ambulatory or urgent‑care clinic.

Knowledge & Skills

Customer service principles and recovery.

Safety and infection control principles.

Clinic protocols for patient visit flow, treatments, and procedures.

Critical thinking with the nursing process and data collection.

Use of medical equipment, oral and written communication, and charting.

Life‑saving procedures, multitasking, time management, and problem solving.

Proficiency with EMR systems.

Physical Demands

Regular standing, walking, sitting, and frequent hand use.

Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.

Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association, Clinical Competency Assessment – SEARHC, High‑Risk Competency – SEARHC, Registered Nurse License – State of Alaska.
