Responsibilities

Lead the Solution Cycle:

Collaborate closely with account executives, product specialists, and partners to drive the technical aspects of the sales cycle from discovery to close.

Understand Institutional Needs:

Engage with education institutions to deeply understand their unique challenges and strategic goals. This role will primarily align with large higher education institutions; however, you will have the opportunity for exposure to for-profit and K-12 organizations as well.

Design & Demonstrate Value:

Apply deep industry and technical expertise to design, build, and present tailored demonstrations that showcase Salesforce as a strategic partner, translating complex education processes into impactful technology solutions.

Apply Industry and Technical Expertise:

Translate education business processes into impactful technology solutions, differentiating Salesforce capabilities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Support RFP and Proposal Processes:

Lead the technical response to RFPs and RFIs, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and clearly demonstrating Salesforce\'s value.

Collaborate Across Teams:

Work effectively with account teams, solution specialists, professional services, and Salesforce partners to align Salesforce solutions with institutional needs.

Stay Ahead of Industry Trends:

Continuously build expertise in education challenges and technology trends, incorporating insights into solution recommendations.

Achieve Performance Goals:

Meet quarterly and annual objectives related to customer engagement, solution development, and revenue contribution.

Invest in Professional Growth:

Participate in training, certifications, and mentorship programs to continuously enhance expertise and effectiveness in the role.

Required Qualifications

A combined

7+ years

of experience in either a pre-sales/solution engineering/consulting role or deep domain expertise working within a higher education institution (e.g., in the Registrar\'s, Advising, Financial Aid, Enrollment, or Student Success offices).

A minimum of

3+ years

in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., solution engineering, pre-sales, technical consulting, or enterprise software delivery).

Deep understanding of education operations, including student lifecycle management, academic operations, financial aid, student success initiatives, enrollment, and alumni relations.

Proven ability to lead discovery sessions, understand complex institutional challenges, and craft tailored technology solutions.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven narratives for stakeholders at all levels—from an IT team to a university president.

Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced sales environment.

A collaborative mindset and a passion for technology, with a desire to continuously learn and drive meaningful change in education.

Location & Travel:

This is a remote-based role. Candidates must be willing and able to accommodate semi-regular local travel for customer meetings and occasional regional travel for presentations and industry events. Preference will be given to candidates located near a major Salesforce office hub.

Preferred Qualifications / What Sets You Apart

Strongly Preferred:

Hands-on configuration or demonstration experience with Salesforce Education Cloud.

A strong, demonstrable understanding of generative AI and LLM concepts and their practical application in an education context.

Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Certifications , Salesforce-preferred, related to generative AI and LLM concepts

Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Education Cloud Consultant, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud).

Experience with Salesforce Industries (Vlocity), OmniScript, or Industry Common Components.

Experience leading the technical response for formal RFP and RFI proposals.
