Provide technical and programmatic lean?in to existing department sections performing naval operational automation and control systems software development and test, applying advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Design and define system & software architecture for new or existing complex computer systems (Embedded and PLC based) to include defining specifications, requirements, processes, and tools. Coordinate the design of subsystems and integration of the total system, resolving issues and recommending corrective actions. Serve as the CHENG Office NNS Associate Technical Fellow for Software, working on unusually complex technical problems and providing solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious; act as advisor to management and customers on advanced automation and control system technical topics. Support talent acquisition and development, including mentoring and coaching. Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions, ensuring software standards are met. Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions and design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 14 years of relevant exempt experience; Masters Degree and 12 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 9 years of experience.

Master of Science in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or Computer Science Professional Engineering License in Computer Engineering, Control Systems, or Electronics/Controls/Communications
