Safety Training Instructor – Lead, Asbestos & OSHA Reports To:

Vice President, Workforce Development

About the Role We are seeking a qualified Safety Training Instructor – Lead, Asbestos & OSHA to deliver high-quality safety instruction to apprentices, workers, and industry partners within the construction and environmental sectors.

This part-time opportunity is ideal for certified trainers who want to share their expertise while maintaining flexibility. The position offers an immediate start, making it a great fit for professionals ready to begin teaching without delay.

You will lead both classroom and field-based sessions focused on OSHA compliance, Asbestos, and Lead Supervisor programs, ensuring training excellence and full adherence to federal and state requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver OSHA, Asbestos Supervisor, and Lead Supervisor courses in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Facilitate interactive, hands-on, and classroom-based training using proven adult-learning methods.

Maintain certification records, attendance, evaluations, and other administrative documentation.

Update course materials and integrate new safety standards or regulations into lesson content.

Engage with contractors, workforce partners, and community organizations to support workforce readiness programs.

Participate in audits, renewals, and program improvements to uphold instructional quality.

Qualifications

Active Lead Supervisor Certification

(required)

State-approved safety instructor credentials

(preferred)

Demonstrated experience teaching OSHA and environmental safety programs.

Strong understanding of adult learning techniques and classroom engagement.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Proficiency with MS Office and learning management systems.

Ability to work independently and travel locally as needed.

Preferred Background

Minimum 3 years of safety instruction or workforce development experience.

Prior experience teaching in construction, industrial safety, or environmental remediation.

Knowledge of workforce development and apprenticeship training programs.

Degree or equivalent experience in safety, education, or a related discipline.
