Overview
Team Lead, Petsense role at Petsense by Tractor Supply. This position assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the execution of operational, sales, and merchandising objectives by providing outstanding customer service. It also promotes a safe and productive work environment for Team Members, customers, and vendors, and trains Team Members on the application of policies and procedures. Responsibilities
Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts with the ability to cover varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Uphold a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures. Support selling initiatives (TEAM): thank the customer, engage with the customer and/or pet, advise on products or services, and make the experience memorable. Execute assigned basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities. Perform Opening/Closing procedures; transport and deposit funds as required. Assess store conditions and assign duties; organize and prioritize workflow using the daily planner. Recover merchandise; participate in mandatory freight process; perform price changes as needed. Resolve customer complaints to ensure a positive experience. Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls as needed. Communicate job functions, responsibilities, and financial goals to Team Members. Operate cashier/computer systems and supervise cash handling procedures. Assist Team Members with application of policies and procedures. Ensure safety and well-being of live animals; sanitize and maintain holding tanks and care for live animals as required. Complete all documentation related to duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Retail experience and/or knowledge of pets/live animals preferred; supervisory experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Read, write, and count accurately. Preferred Knowledge, Skills Or Abilities
Pet/live animal knowledge and pet products knowledge preferred. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict. Basic computer skills. Ability to perform and execute principal responsibilities of Team Members. Working Conditions
Indoor environment with moderate noise; generally favorable. Hard floor surfaces (concrete, asphalt) with adequate lighting and temperature. Shifts vary by store but are generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours. Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers; adhere to safety training and guidelines. Physical Requirements
Non-sedentary role with need to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely. Operate equipment related to job duties; read, write, and count accurately for documentation. Ability to lift or reach merchandise overhead; stand, kneel, twist, crouch, bend, and climb ladders as required. Move throughout the store for an entire shift; access all store areas; manage live animals as needed; handle up to 50 pounds; travel as required for district needs. Disclaimer
