We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join the Oncology Discovery group in South San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity to use in vitro and in vivo models to investigate novel targets and to understand molecular mechanisms of disease and pathology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of various biochemical and cellular assays and mechanistic experiments to advance early drug-discovery projects. The individual will work with other team members to design, execute, analyze, and present experiments in the laboratory and provide scientific and technical input into the target portfolio. The successful candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific rigor, independent thought, and a team-oriented mentality. In addition, the candidate must have effective organizational, multitasking, oral, and written communication skills and be able to collaborate in a fast-paced, integrated, multidisciplinary team environment. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor\'s with (7 years), Master\'s (with 4 years) or Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field and relevant experience in industry or academia Required Experience and Skills: In-depth knowledge and understanding of Cancer Biology Extensive hands-on experience with in vitro cell-based assays and multiparametric flow cytometry Strong foundation in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques for target identification, including but not limited to RT-PCR, protein quantification, in vitro overexpression, knock-in, knock-out, and cell line generation Proficiency with in vivo mouse tumor models (implantation, dosing, measurements) Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, time-management, and organizational skills Required Skills: Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Drug Target Identification, Flow Cytometry, Immunology, In Vitro Cell-Based Assays, In Vivo Models, Molecular Biology, Oncology, Oncology Research Preferred Skills

An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
