Role
As assigned by the Pre construction /Estimation Manager, the Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems, ELV Systems (CCTV/ACS/ICT/Intercom/AV/BMS&EPMS), Fire alarm & VESDA systems across data centre and food & beverage facility projects. The role ensures that all tender submissions, budgetary proposals, and variation estimates are developed in full compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and company standards.
Key responsibilities include detailed quantity take-offs, material and labour cost analysis, review of design drawings and tender documents, coordination with suppliers and subcontractors for quotation requests, Cable LME calculation sheets, major material comparison, and preparation of complete technical and commercial bid submissions. The Senior Electrical Estimator also supports value engineering exercises, risk assessments, and cost optimisation strategies to maintain project competitiveness.
The role involves close collaboration with the engineering, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure that all estimates accurately reflect the project scope, technical requirements, and schedule constraints. The Senior Electrical Estimator plays a key role in ensuring the company’s tenders and proposals are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with client expectations.
Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
Preparing the project overview.
Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and material/labour estimates.
Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors for quotation requests and technical clarifications.
Evaluating received quotations and conducting technical and commercial comparisons.
Preparing and finalising tender cost summaries, BOQs, and pricing sheets.
Supporting value engineering, cost optimisation, and risk assessment activities.
Coordinating with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams for technical alignment.
Preparing complete tender submissions (technical and commercial) in line with project requirements and deadlines.
Ensuring all estimates comply with company procedures, project specifications, and cost targets.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in electrical estimation within the construction or MEP industry, preferably with data centre and food & beverage facility projects.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, electrical design, and installation standards.
Proficiency in estimation software, MS Excel, and quantity take‑off tools (e.g., PlanSwift).
Familiarity with international standards and specifications (BS, IEC, NFPA, etc.).
Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents accurately.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of procurement and cost control principles.
Excellent coordination, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
