Sr. Construction Inspector – Roadway/Pavement Company:

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc.

Location:

Anchorage, AK

Pay Range:

$80,000.00–$100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

Must have knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing; detailed inspections must be made to ensure required level of workmanship adhering to contract, project plans and specifications.

Perform and support three-phase inspection system.

Provide daily QA reports to document all activities observed for each on-site day in sufficient detail.

Review and analyze construction contractor progress.

Ensure safety requirements are met, including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements.

Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.

Review design, comment logging and back-checking; verify accurate as-built drawings.

Review and comment on accuracy of construction contractor’s requests for payment.

Review and acknowledge daily reports, including verification of project schedule and activities behind schedule.

Maintain an Inspector Site Inspection Report.

Assist in response for RFIs, modifications and change orders.

Participate in pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch-lists and ensure all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience (quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing) highly preferred.

Associate Degree (two‑year degree) or Technical Training Degree (two‑year training) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience highly preferred.

Bachelor of Science degree and at least 3 years of construction inspection experience, highly desired.

Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of start date.

Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred.

Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA rules and regulations and all applicable safety requirements.

Demonstrated experience with quality assurance inspections; submittal review; quality verification; validating contractor pay requests; preparing daily reports.

Experience with federal construction projects, particularly U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, preferred.

Professional presentation, excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
