Associate Buyer A confidential organization is seeking an Associate Buyer to support its Supply Chain team by managing vendor relationships, ensuring product availability, and contributing to cost savings initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in aligning purchasing activities with forecasted needs, maintaining accurate procurement records, and supporting continuous improvement in supply chain operations.
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and effective at collaborating cross-functionally to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day relationships with 3–5 assigned vendors.
Collaborate with demand planning to align purchase orders with forecasted needs.
Place and track purchase orders, ensuring on-time and in-full (OTIF) delivery to designated warehouses.
Monitor vendor performance and resolve delivery/service issues.
Negotiate lead times and minimum order quantities within established guidelines.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and pricing agreements.
Partner with supply chain and warehouse teams to resolve inventory discrepancies.
Utilize ERP and demand planning tools to track forecasts, inventory turnover, and stock levels.
Generate weekly/monthly reports on demand metrics, forecast accuracy, and KPIs (OTIF, inventory growth, lead times).
Analyze datasets to identify demand patterns, optimization opportunities, and risks of stockouts or overstocking.
Assist with new product launches by forecasting initial demand and incorporating sales input.
Contribute to SOP development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with manufacturing partners and quality teams to maintain standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or inventory analysis.
Proficiency with demand planning tools (e.g., DemandCaster, NetSuite, Excel).
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail.
Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience in CPG, manufacturing, or packaging environments is a plus (not required).
