The Pastry Cook supports F&B operations by preparing high-quality desserts, breads, and baked goods to Gravity Haus standards. The role works under the guidance of the Executive Chef, contributing creativity, precision, and consistency to the pastry program. The Pastry Cook ensures all products meet quality, presentation, and safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of pastries, breads, desserts, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.

Assist in the development of new menu items and seasonal offerings under the direction of the Executive Chef.

Ensure consistency in portioning, flavor, texture, and presentation of all pastry items.

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, labeling, and storage of ingredients.

Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, equipment, and storage areas.

Support inventory management by assisting with ingredient rotation, counts, and restocking.

Collaborate with the broader culinary team to meet service timelines and special event needs.

Assist with training and mentoring junior team members when needed.

Contribute to a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture aligned with Gravity Haus values.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the culinary team.

What We’re Looking For

Prior experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or culinary environment preferred.

Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry fundamentals, and plating standards.

Strong attention to detail, creativity, and pride in craftsmanship.

Ability to follow recipes and execute consistent results under time pressure.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

Appreciation for and commitment to sustainability, the outdoors, and personal growth.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours).

Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
