Ramah Day Camp of Greater Boston is excited to announce a new year-round position:
Assistant Director . We’re looking for an energetic, organized, creative, and passionate leader who is ready to help shape the future of Jewish day camps in the Boston area.
Location:
Ramah Day Camp Greater Boston
Off season:
Norwood, MA
(our year-round office). Our team meets in person at our Norwood office Monday through Thursday and works remotely on Fridays.
Summer months:
onsite at camp in
Waltham, MA
Key Responsibilities
Recruit and retain the next generation of campers and staff.
Build and sustain meaningful relationships with families throughout Greater Boston.
Design and implement an exceptional summer experience for over 400 campers and staff.
Play a central role in growing Ramah Boston as the premier Jewish day camp in the region.

Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant professional experience in areas such as education, informal Jewish education, youth engagement, camp management, or program administration.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine ability to connect and build relationships with families, staff, and colleagues.
Strong writing and editing skills for family communications, marketing materials, and website content.
A collaborative and flexible work style—someone who takes initiative, works well independently, and enjoys being part of a dynamic team.
Commitment to the mission, values, and joy of Jewish camping and experiential education.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in summer camping, youth programs, or Jewish communal organizations.
Knowledge of Boston-area Jewish institutions, schools, and synagogues.
Background or comfort in program design, event planning, or logistics coordination.
Ability to think creatively and problem-solve with both empathy and efficiency.
Familiarity with Hebrew or Israeli culture is a plus but not required.
Comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database systems (experience with CampMinder, Constant Contact, or similar platforms preferred).
Work Environment
This is a full-time, year-round position based in Norwood, MA during the off-season and Waltham, MA during the summer.
The team works in-person Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
Some evenings and weekends are required, particularly during the recruitment season and summer months.
