Amergis is currently seeking experienced PCU RNs for LOCAL assignments in Columbus, OH.
Position Details:
Contract Length: 13 wks
Number of Openings: 11
Start Date: 11/17
Hours/Shifts/Schedules: Nights 36hrs/wk (3x12s) available
Every other weekend, every other holiday
Setting/Day to day: Hospital
EMR: EPIC
Responsibilities The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professional practitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The PCU RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care, consistently performs according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. The PCU RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition or intermediate unit.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS & NIH
Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry
Ratio: 1:3 PCU
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
Previous travel experience preferred
