This Position reports to:

Business Manager - Operations

Your Role And Responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure efficient and cost‑effective production results. Each day, you will be responsible to meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). You will also showcase your expertise by developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.

The work model for the role is Onsite. This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.

Oversee U.S. PDP Assembly and Warehouse operations, ensuring that production goals and KPI’s are met, preparing annual production budget, overseeing progress, and determining actions to cost issues as necessary to manage operations within the budget and resources.

Develop and execute plans to reduce non‑value‑added costs, increase revenues, and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and reducing product field failure rates.

Provide support to the sales team, as required, during customer visits to explain the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities.

Assist and back‑up the production planning process, manage the equipment maintenance and repair schedules with engineering and maintenance.

Manage and approve employee and contractor timecards; approve vacation(s) and sick time in compliance with ABB and federal/state regulations, completing mid and annual employee PDA’s, aligned with global and local agreed target goals and objectives.

Ensure that Four Quadrants (4Q) program training and methods are implemented in the organization; manage the training matrix to ensure production continuity and minimize disruptions.

Qualifications For The Role

Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing related role such as production, production planning, production engineering; OR Associate’s degree and minimum of 10 years of experience, OR HS Diploma and 12 years’ of related experience.

5 years of experience in a leadership role within production or engineering.

Extensive experience with SAP Production and Warehouse Management modules.

Knowledge and experience with Lean 6 Sigma and Lean Concepts and solving manufacturing concerns.

Prior experience leading diverse and multiple assembly operations and working with various departments (Engineering, Quality, Planning, SCM, etc.).

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
