Job Summary
Ready to make waves with the fastest growing pontoon brand in the industry? Barletta is currently sourcing candidates for a Product Development & Project Manager. This position will serve as a member of the core product team in shaping Barletta’s product strategy by ensuring disciplined execution of product development initiatives and projects, delivering market insights, and supporting our ideation and innovation processes. This highly collaborative role supports multiple functions including Sales, Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure Barletta maintains its reputation for quality, performance, and innovation across our product portfolio, with a specific focus on supporting our Product Development processes.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Product Development
Maintain and manage Barletta’s ideation and innovation pipeline using a Now, Near, Far methodology.
Lead product scoping and price pointing with direction from the VP, Sales.
Support the VP, Design & Product Development in managing the future product pipeline, identifying emerging product and technology opportunities (e.g., telematics, MFDs), and identifying products / potential suppliers for prototyping projects.
Consistently review and evolve Barletta’s Product Development processes to ensure efficiency, great communication, and disciplined execution of project plans.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure disciplined execution of product development and launches.
Lead weekly Product Development (PD) meetings, set agendas, facilitate discussions, and ensure follow-through on decisions.
Track execution of PD projects and tollgates, ensuring alignment with timelines and deliverables.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of pontoon boat manufacturers, including features, pricing, positioning, and innovation trends.
Attend trade shows and monitor industry publications to identify emerging trends and adjacent market opportunities.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of competitor products and market intelligence.
Customer & Sales Support
Attend select shows in a sales capacity to support dealer sales, gather VOC insights, and develop competitive intelligence.
Integrate sales data from multiple platforms to deliver comprehensive market analysis across product lines, dealer networks, and regional performance.
Build a network of dealer advisors to ensure voice of the customer is relentlessly validated and integrated into Barletta’s product pipeline.
Innovation & Technology Integration
Utilize AI platforms and data analytics tools to identify industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies.
Leverage machine learning and predictive analytics to support strategic decision‑making in product planning and market positioning.
Collaborate with supplier partners to evaluate feasibility and alignment of new materials and features with Barletta’s brand.
Marketing & Brand Alignment
Assist Marketing in developing and maintaining the product story and brand consistency.
Support the development of executive‑level presentations and reports summarizing competitive intelligence and product development progress.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Design, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience in product development, preferably in the marine or manufacturing industry.
Strong project management and cross‑functional leadership skills.
Ability to work independently while influencing and aligning cross‑functionally.
Proficiency in data analytics, market research, and AI tools is a plus. (No AI experience yet? No worries, we have a guy… you’ll learn.)
