We are seeking a Hardware System Engineer with FPGA experience to support one of our customers in Maryland.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement FPGA‑based digital logic using VHDL or Verilog.
Develop simulation testbenches and verify designs using ModelSim or equivalent tools.
Synthesize, place & route, and generate bitstreams using Xilinx tools (Vivado/ISE).
Collaborate with systems engineers and software developers to integrate hardware into embedded systems.
Perform timing analysis, resource utilization reviews, and constraint optimization.
Document designs, test plans, and results in support of project requirements.
Participate in lab testing, debugging, and validation of FPGA designs on target hardware.
Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – DoDAF, SOA, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
TS/SCI with polygraph.
This position can be filled at level 1, 2, or 3 based on experience: SE1 requires 7 years; SE2 requires 14 years; SE3 requires 20 years.
Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering efforts is required.
A bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; 5 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or SoC integration.
Experience with software programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Ruby on Rails.
Comfortable working in Unix, Linux, and Windows environments.
Experience with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, Tcl).
Understanding of high‑speed digital design, interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, PCIe), and signal integrity.
