Job Description Job Description Description : Job Overview The Staff Accountant serves as a key financial steward for GBC Food Services, working primarily with Aung Enterprise, LLC and other entities as assigned. This role operates with independent discretion and judgment to design, implement, and improve accounting processes; analyze complex transactions; and recommend actions that impact financial results and compliance. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality, frequent collaboration with external consultants, audit / tax firms, and other third parties, and travel to different locations as needed. Supervisory Scope

Functional lead over AP / AR / GL processes (no direct reports required). Authority to approve AP payment runs within delegated limits, release journal entries, and escalate / resolve exceptions with internal leaders and external partners. Leads cross-functional close activities and coordinates work of contributors (AP, AR, Operations, Supply Chain, Franchise Services). Key Responsibilities

Close Ownership & Policy Application: Own monthly / quarterly close for assigned entities, including judgemental accruals, revenue / expense recognition conclusions, and flux analyses; draft accounting memos supporting positions. Controls & Process Design: Evaluate control gaps; design and implement improvements to SOPs, approval workflows, and ERP configurations impacting financial reporting. Complex GL & Technical Accounting: Research and resolve non-routine transactions (e.g., rebates, chargebacks, intercompany eliminations, vendor disputes); determine accounting treatment and recommend corrective actions. AP Leadership: Set vendor terms recommendations; approve payment runs within authority; resolve 2- / 3-way match exceptions; direct remediation with vendors / consultants. AR Leadership: Oversee invoicing logic and cash application integrity; set collection strategies for aged items; authorize write-offs / credit memos within policy and recommend policy changes when needed. External Liaison: Serve as primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and other consultants; prepare PBC lists; negotiate timelines and scope; address inquiries with professional judgment. Reporting & Insights: Build management reports and KPIs; present findings and recommendations that influence operational and financial decisions. Compliance & Risk: Maintain confidentiality; ensure adherence to internal controls; support sales / use tax and other compliance needs; propose risk-mitigation steps when issues are identified. Systems Stewardship: Lead small-scale NetSuite enhancements (workflows, saved searches, roles / permissions) to strengthen data integrity and efficiency. Required Skills / Abilities

Advanced knowledge of GAAP and internal controls with demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance. Strong analytical skills, including building complex reconciliations and decision-oriented analyses. Excellent communication and stakeholder management across internal teams and external firms / consultants. High proficiency in Excel; NetSuite (preferred) or comparable ERP; comfort with light automation / reporting tools. Proven discretion with confidential information. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3–5 years progressive accounting experience with multi-entity exposure preferred. CPA or active CPA track a plus; foodservice, franchising, or light manufacturing experience helpful. Work Environment, Travel & Physical Requirements

Office-based with prolonged computer use; occasional light lifting (up to 15 lbs). Travel as needed to corporate offices, host locations, franchise sites, vendors, and consultant / audit firms. Other Duties
