Lowboy Truck Driver
The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment. In this position, the Driver will load construction equipment (may include but are not limited to front end loader, crusher equipment, fuel tanks, dozer, excavator, oversized loads) onto trailer and transport to various construction sites. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment and trucks.
Job Purpose The driver maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location, maintains truck logs, and keeps records of materials and products transported while ensuring vehicle cleanliness, inspection, and servicing.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
Keeps record of materials and products transported.
Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle.
Operates equipment on vehicle to unload equipment or materials.
Possesses operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment.
Assists in loading and unloading truck equipment or materials.
Willingly attends and supports Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
Actively promotes and supports a safety‑conscious culture; follows all safety regulations and company policies; takes proactive steps to avoid hazards; participates in safety programs; mentors new hires; and attends safety‑related training.
Other duties as assigned.
Certificates and /or Licenses
Valid Class A CDL
Able to pass a DOT physical.
Clean Driving Record
Endorsements: Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement a plus, but not required.
Education & Experience High School graduate which may be substituted with specific work‑related experience.
