Location: Polson, MT (59860)
Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
Unit: Emergency Services
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026)
Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
Block Scheduling: Available
Charting: Epic EMR
Scrub Color: Any color (OR scrubs provided)
Parking: Free onsite parking
ER RN Qualifications
Active Montana or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
Proficiency with Epic charting system
Community hospital experience preferred
Ability to provide clinical support for diverse patient age groups: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
References: 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with varying diagnoses and acuity levels
Perform triage, assessment, and interventions for trauma, medical, and behavioral health emergencies
Administer emergency medications, blood products, and manage IVs, central lines, and ventilated patients
Interpret EKGs, arterial blood gases, and dysrhythmias
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling
Provide compassionate care to patients of all ages: neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Uphold infection control and isolation precautions
