Phlebotomist I – Edmonds, WA

Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with rotational weekends.

Job Description This position requires a state phlebotomy license (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV). Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination will be required. The role involves collecting specimens, administering oral solutions, confirming orders, entering billing information, processing samples, performing non‑patient duties, maintaining logs, and completing training.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).

Administer oral solutions according to training.

Research test/client information and confirm all orders using lab technology, client contact, and approved tools.

Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.

Obtain identification and accurately enter billing info, collecting payments when required.

Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.

Perform non‑patient duties: inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email.

Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.

Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.

Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature) in a timely manner.

Complete online and in‑person training courses on time.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training preferred: medical assistant or paramedic training.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

One year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Customer service in retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard / data entry experience.

Effective communication in English.

Pay & Benefits Pay range: $22.65 – $26.90 per hour. Salary determined by skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Eligible for annual performance bonus.
