The Anesthesia Technician 2 assists in intubations, catheter placements, and trauma response while operating and troubleshooting airway tools and equipment. This full‑time, entry‑level position is located onsite in Flagstaff.

Responsibilities
Assist in intubations including difficult airways.
Use aseptic and sterile techniques to prep, assist with placement, and secure catheter placements performed by licensed anesthesia providers (IVs, arterial lines, central lines, RICs, floating Swan‑Ganz catheters).
Set up blood warmers and adult IV fluid lines.
Perform trauma response and run arterial blood gases (ABG), venous blood gases (VBG), and activated clotting time (ACT).
Assist in all heart cases.
Ensure operating suites are fully stocked with anesthesia supplies.
Assemble, operate, and support specialized equipment for surgical suites.
Assist surgical staff with room set‑up and turnover.
Set up OR for demanding cases within licensing restrictions.
Prepare and operate autotransfusion equipment; maintain patient records for intraoperative autotransfusion procedures.
Estimate blood loss via autotransfusion unit and total volume reinfused.
Collaborate with Biomedical Engineering to ensure equipment functionality and availability of loaners.
Report safety incidents through the Midas/RDE tool; attend safety training and monitor work environment for safety issues.
Stay current with state/federal regulations, company policies, and required certifications/credentials.
Complete mandatory company modules and job‑specific training within specified time frames.
Training & Competency Position requires successful completion of a competency‑based training program covering didactic instruction, observation of procedures, precepted experience, and skills assessment.
ACLS/RQI must be completed prior to release from FMC’s AT 2 Training Program.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience – required.
Certification & Licenses:
BLS – required prior to independent patient care or within 60 days of hire.
ACLS/RQI – required prior to independent patient care or within 90 days of hire.
Certified Anesthesia Technologist – preferred.
Experience:
1 year as an Anesthesia Technician – preferred.
Computer proficiency: understanding of basic software programs and electronic devices.
Call Required Yes – within 20 minutes.
